Gold, in nominal terms (grey line), has been on a tear over the past two weeks, clocking a new all-time high every single day over the past six sessions. Gold in real terms, i.e. adjusted for inflation (red line), is still nearly $200 from the 1980 $882 top away. Surpassing the long-term resistance line at ~$770 would be a first important step in taking out that top from over 40 years ago too. Stay tuned (but also … seated)!
