"Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first."
-- Ronald Reagan
Today will see the first presidential debate between President Biden and Republican contender Trump in this election cycle. Presidential debates are of course nothing unusual and rather the norm since since Sen. John F. Kennedy and Vice President Richard Nixon staged the first televised debate in the 1960 campaign. However, what IS unusual about tonight’s debate is how early it is taking place, even before the parties’ respective conventions due sometime later in the summer. The probability and risk matrix below was put together by Capitol Analysts Network and reached me via my good friends at First Trust. It argues that risk are probably rather sector specific than holistic and binary. I would agree.
